Suicide and me

I found it very interesting to read about how 90% of those who commit suicide already suffer from some kind of psychological disorder. I remember in 5th grade when one of my fellow students had to go to a therapist because he had spoken of killing himself. It shows how we cannot take things like that likely, when there is such good treatment out there that could save a life.

  1. Just last week I experienced the loss of someone due to suicide. Sometimes it happens to the person you would least expect. You have to consider that 10% of people who commit suicide show no signs and have not been diagnosed with a psychologic disorder. With suicide being the 4th leading cause of death amongst teenagers you really have to be aware and try to help those people out.

  2. Not to long ago a birthday past of someone who committed suicide in my town. It really is crazy that suicide is becoming so overwhelmingly popular by troubled teens. Though therapy can be helpful, I find that sometimes, other things can be a type of therapy to those who are suicidal. Actual therapy in addition to what I like to call "friend therapy" can be very helpful. Anyone can save a life. They just have to pay attention and just genuinely care. Care can go a very long way, especially when those who are suicidal often think that they don't have anyone who cares at all.
