In todays class we watched a video on insomnia. I liked how in the film they told the person who is having trouble sleeping to keep a journal of their sleep patterns to see what times were best for them to fall asleep. They told this because if you go asleep to early you could wake up at an undesired time in the morning. This is true because i see that if I go to sleep at 10 i will wake up at 7 in the morning. But when i go to sleep at 12 i can sleep until 8:30-9 ish. It is recommended that you fall asleep and wake up at the same time each night and morning. This way you feel more refreshed and many specialists say you will be able to fall asleep and wake up easier.
I liked this video as well, it helped me realize that by simply waking up at the same time each day i will sleep better. Although it is extremely hard to do this in a college setting i feel as if it would be extremely beneficial to my health.
ReplyDeleteThis video made a lot of excellent points about correcting ones sleep cycle. I guess as a college student I haven't been going to sleep at the same times every night because the amount of work I have varies. This causes me to go to bed at all different hours and wake up at different hours. I have begun to notice that my sleep cycle has been disrupted. Over break I am going to try this approach in an attempt to fix my sleep cycle.
