Humanistic View
The Humanistic view is interesting. It emphasizes the unique qualities of humans and their potential for personal growth. The source of the data is from case studies which are really in-depth studies. These can be a long process and can tell you a lot about yourself that you may not have known. Which Roger’s self concept, it is “a collection of beliefs about one’s own nature, unique qualities, and typical behavior”. This theory also deals with the hierarchy of needs. This is “a systematic arrangement of needs, according to priority, in which basic needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused”. In this there is a need to fulfill one’s potential, which is also known as need for self actualization.
