It is interesting that people can suffer from personality disorders that can affect their daily lives in such a significant way. I know that if I suffered from a mood disorder, it would be challenging to be in certain social situations that required me to be nice and friendly, when I know i might not be able to handle it. In a place as socially based as college, I am sympathetic in the utmost way towards anyone with a mood disorder.

ANTIDEPRESSANT DRUGS
In class the other day, we were talking about antidepressant drugs. We watched a video in which someone stated that antidepressant drugs didn't cause a mid-range of emotions. However, I have an argument for and against that. I have a friend who has very serious depression to the point where she has thought about killing herself before. However, now she is going through therapy and on an antidepressant drug. Although the video claimed that there was no mid-range of emotions, my friend is a clear example of how there is. She told me that once she started taking the pills, she never got so low again, which is good. However, though she can be happy, she can never be super ecstatic or elated. I am one of her closest and being a very happy person in general, she always used to tell me how she loved my happiness. She said that the medicine is worth it so that she doesn't feel so horrible and lonely at times, but she does miss being able to laugh at nothing and just be completely happy for no reason at all. As a result, I feel that antidepressant drugs are very individualistic and have very different effects on different people. The lady in the video expressed that she went back to her former self (before depression). However, for my friend the story is a little different as she feels her emotions are limited. As a result, this is why I think it is a good idea if people are on medicine to also be in therapy as well because though the point is to treat depression, some antidepressants actually have a side effect of having suicidal thoughts because it really depends on the person who is taking the medication.
